Bluetooth integration joins a wealth of existing technology features of the VoIP-based Provider 790 System which focus on streamlining alerts, communications and workflows between patients and their care providers.

Typically located at the main nursing station for each unit, the Provider 790 nurse console is the central alerting interface for patient to staff and staff to staff communications throughout the nursing unit. Before Bluetooth, a staff member answering calls needed to be at the nurse console. Now, with the Bluetooth integration, staff are no longer tethered to the nurse console and can move freely within Bluetooth range of the nurse console while still being alerted and able to answer patient and staff calls. Multi-tasking while having a hands-free, private conversation is now possible with use of the headset. The wireless connection provides a natural sounding full-duplex audio connection between the answering staff member and the originating intercom station. At any time during the conversation, the answering staff member can return to the nurse console and pick up the handset; the conversation automatically transfers to the console’s handset.
