Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Names New Executive Officer

MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. - March 2, 2016 - PRLog -- The Metropolitan Builders and Contractors Association of New Jersey (http://www.metrobca.org/) (Metro) has named Doug Fenichel, APR, as its executive officer. He was formerly the president of his own public relations agency.

A long-time member of the homebuilders association, Fenichel said he is excited about his new role.

“I’ve been involved with the New Jersey Builders Association since serving on its public relations committee in 2001,” said Doug. “I’ve been impressed with the organization’s drive to protect members’ interests and influence the conditions under which homes are built.”

Fenichel is an award-winning, accredited public relations professional with many years of experience. Since 2011, he was the president of his own agency, In-House Public Relations. Prior to that, Fenichel worked for such organizations as K. Hovnanian Homes, AT&T and several smaller companies. As an agency executive, Fenichel counselled Coldwell Banker, D.R. Horton, Meritage Homes and several local builders and suppliers.

His public relations work earned him many awards over the years. In addition, Fenichel won New Jersey Builders Association’s Iron-Man Award and Metro’s Kathy Hughes Award.

Fenichel says he’s looking forward to working with Metro and the building industry from a different vantage.

“Metro assures that those in our industry have a voice in Trenton and in Washington, D.C.,” said Fenichel. “That voice gives even the smallest craftsperson a say in the creation of rules and regulations that determine how our industry does business. That’s a central part of how our democracy works.

“When you couple our advocacy with the educational and networking opportunities Metro offers, this is an important job for those who build, remodel and maintain homes, the professionals who serve them and the people who need quality homes and the services to keep their homes at their best.”

Fenichel, a resident of Flanders, holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri. He is past president of the New Jersey chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and served as its ethics officer. Doug is an active firefighter and paramedic.
