Follow on Google News | Brooklyn Man Files False Arrest Lawsuit in Federal CourtAllegations Within the Complaint On December 20, 2015, and at approximately 4:30 p.m., Kelson had been leaving a restaurant known as Beauty and Essex on the Lower East Side of NYC, when all of a sudden he was grabbed from behind. Startled, he turned around and noticed that the person who had grabbed him was a New York City Police Officer. The officer instructed him to put his hands behind his back because he was under arrest and Kelson complied with the officer's instructions. Thereafter, Kelson was transported to the 7th Precinct where he was held for about four hours being fingerprinted, photographed and processed. He was subsequently taken to Manhattan's Central Booking where he awaited arraignment before a Criminal Court Judge. At his arraignment, Kelson learned that he had been charged with false personation and resisting arrest. The case was adjourned to February, 2016 and on that date, the matter was adjourned in contemplation of dismissal.
