AZUSA, Calif. - March 5, 2016 - PRLog -- CSC Motorcycles announced today the availability of Moto Colombia!, the story of Joe Berk’s recent Colombian adventure tour on an RX3 motorcycle. Berk, CSC’s public relations consultant and blogger (and regular contributor to Motorcycle Classics magazine), wrote the book after completing a 2600-kilometer circumnavigation of Colombia’s Andes Mountains.

“AKT Motos (the Colombian RX3 importer) and CSC Motorcycles (the US RX3 importer) sponsored this ride,” Berk said.   “It was one of the grandest ADV rides of my life.  Juan Carlos Posada Roa, publisher of the Colombian motorcycle magazine DeMotos, led the ride.  His encyclopedic knowledge of Colombia and his ability to find the very best roads and photo ops made it a very special ride for me.”

“I wrote about what it’s like to ride Colombia,” Berk said.  “We rode from the Caribbean shoreline up to nearly 14,000 feet in the Andes Mountains.  We rode along the rim of an active volcano.  The roads and the riding were amazing.  I toured the AKT Motos factory and I met with the AKT management team.   I interviewed Colombian motor officers who helped liberate Colombia from the rebels and the narcoterrorists.  I rode with Colombian riders, and there's no question in my mind that they are the best in the world.  I watched them do things on motorcycles that took my breath away.”

“Most folks would be surprised to learn that Colombia has more motorcycles than the United States,” Berk continued.  “Zongshen reports that Colombia is their largest export market.  Colombia’s motorcycle registrations have grown steadily for the last several years.  There’s one motorcycle for every eight people in Colombia. This is a country that lives and breathes motorcycles.  It’s in their DNA.  It was an exciting place to be.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed writing Moto Colombia!,” Berk said.   “I think it’s a great read.  This is my 13th book, and I think it is the best book I've ever written.  I relived the riding while I was writing.”

As part of its approach for promoting adventure touring, CSC regularly sponsors and participates in extreme adventure tours.  Prior CSC rides have included their 1700-mlle Baja Inaugural Run and the 5000-mile Western America Adventure Ride (both described in another Berk book, 5000 Miles At 8000 RPM).  CSC is leaving with 12 riders for another 2000-mile Baja adventure tour this week.   All of the CSC rides have been on their iconic RX3 adventure touring motorcycles.

The CSC RX3, manufactured to CSC specifications by Zongshen, is a 250cc adventure touring motorcycle.  The RX3 features liquid cooling, fuel injection, a counter-balanced overhead cam engine, a six-speed transmission, adventure tour styling, a windshield, engine guards, a skid plate, and a full luggage complement.  The CSC RX3 motorcycle has a two-year, unlimited mileage warranty.  The motorcycle's price is $3895, including all accessories listed above.  Zongshen is China’s largest motorcycle manufacturer and an OEM supplier to such marques as Harley-Davidson, Piaggio, and other major motorcycle manufacturers.

Moto Colombia! is offered in two versions (the print edition at $19.95, and a Kindle edition for $9.99). The book is 270 pages long and includes nearly 200 photographs.  Juan Carlos Posada Roa, publisher and editor-in-chief of DeMotos magazine, wrote the Foreword.
