Redemption in the Nation’s Capital for Golden Boy Featherweight Kevin “K-Smoove” Rivers Jr

WASHINGTON - March 7, 2016 - PRLog -- Golden Boy featherweight Kevin “K-Smoove” Rivers Jr. returned to action for the first time after suffering his first loss in October 2015 in Los Angeles, CA. Rivers fought twenty minutes away from his native Palmer Park, MD at the Stadium Armory in Washington, DC. The 25 year old boxer was featured on an action packed undercard alongside two of his stablemates for the return of HBO Boxing After Dark.

Rivers Jr. entered the fight with a professional record of 12-1 with 9 wins coming by way of knockout and faced a tough opponent in Angel Aispuro of Sinaloa, Mexico. Rivers was dominant throughout the fight and during the 6^th and the final round of the matchup Aispuro was stopped by Rivers due to nasty lacerations on his right ear.

Later that night a humble and victorious Rivers’ took to social media to release the following statement, “First off I want to give thanks to Yahweh our father and creator for guiding me on my victory tonight. Thank you to my family and supporters who came out and showed love and support as usual. The road ain’t over 13-1 10kos.”

Rivers’ is one of the most highly decorated boxers in the featherweight and super-featherweight divisions. Dedication and humility continue to make way for the 25 year old Christian boxer, who heavily relies on his faith both inside and outside of the ring. River’s is enjoying his latest victory and plans to return to training camp soon in preparation for his next matchup.

Kevin “K-Smoove” Rivers Jr. is an American featherweight professional boxer from Palmer Park, MD. Rivers has a current professional record of 13-1-10 (13 wins, 1 loss, 10 knockouts) signed with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions. He was a highly decorated amateur national champion with a 150-15 record. Rivers began boxing at the age of 9 and has 16 years of experience in the ring. He is from a family of boxers, his grandfather was street knockout artist, and his father and uncles trained in Palmer Park boxing gyms home of the legendary Sugar Ray Leonard.
