Annual Black Tie Gala Serves Omelets to Benefit People with Special Needs

CLEARWATER, Fla. - March 7, 2016 - PRLog -- An omelette often varies in ingredients but the Omelette Party has been using the same recipe for success for 49 years to raise money for people with special needs in Tampa Bay.

Upon its inception, the committee of local residents invited famed Chef and "Omelette King" Rudy Stanish from New York City to their Clearwater homes for an evening of omelets and champagne, followed by brunch the next morning. Known as the "Omelet King," Stanish cooked for Paul and Bunny Mellon, Goldman Sachs, and a parade of royalty and celebrities.  Today, the party has grown to more than 400 guests who still enjoy the traditional omelets and champagne in Rudy’s honor. Since the first party 49 years ago, The Omelette Party has raised over $3.5M for The Arc Tampa Bay and its mission to support and empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

This year’s Omelette Party will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the historic home of Mr. Hugh Fuller, known as Century Oaks Estates. After an opportunity to view the home over cocktails, guests will enjoy live entertainment, dinner and libations. Artwork created by the talented artists of The Arc Tampa Bay’s Harborside Studios, an art therapy program in Safety Harbor, will be displayed and available for purchase. Guests will have the chance to purchase additional fine art hand selected by local art agent Alison West Brown, to benefit The Arc Tampa Bay.

The Omelette Party Committee is co-chaired this year by Connolly and James McArthur, residents of Belleair, and Molly Lucas, resident of Dunedin, along with a committee of 16 other women, many of whom have a family history of serving on the committee and supporting The Arc Tampa Bay.

“I am in awe each year at the beauty of the party and the work that this outstanding committee puts in; their dedication to The Arc Tampa Bay and the people with I/DD we serve is evident” says Madison Orr Hauenstein, The Arc Tampa Bay Foundation Executive Director.
