YUMA, Ariz. - May 14, 2016 - PRLog -- Three years in the making, after promoting the Latino Electronic Rock Band KINKY in Miami, 2014, long time festival producer and consultant Hal Davidson embarked on a 2 1/2 year sojourn across the country searching for the right location for his new invention, Rock Fiesta. After viewing locations in Texas, Florida, New Mexico and Nevada, Davidson settled on an unlikely spot. The dusty little truck stop of a town, Quartzsite, Arizona, 18 east of the California border, 1 1/2 hours west if Phoenix. "It was in the epicenter of the SW U.S. Latino population, "the site had a mystical energy especially at dusk" Hal said.

This festival site search was not new, nor was the ambulant promoter to be delayed or stopped. Hal Davidson was on a mission. He knew this was to be and he would not stop until the deed was done.

Previously there was no music festival with so many great bands appealing to young Latinos in America offering camping on the moon.

Quartzsite is positioned next to Interstate 10, North of Yuma, South of Lake Havasu. The same town hosts the famous Gem and RV show every winter. So "it is a small town that understands BIG" Davidson said this weekend in his Maryland office..Average age in Q, 69.

After staying at Desert Gardens Showgrounds for a few days as the temps exceeeded 100, he received permission from the town and his festival dream was blessed. He then composed a convincing proposal, raised investors and moved to Q.

Not at all Latino with only rudimentary Spanish skills, Davidson hired two young Latinos to live in the rented production house. Matty and Alejandro were excited about working on such a promising event. When they saw the talent lineup developing, they knew Rock Fiesta would be a success. Davidson booked the finest Latino Rock lineup in history, He soon was receiving calls from media in other countries asking if this was really true. CAIFANES, CAFE TACVBA, MALDITA VECINDAD, EL TRI, MOLOTOV, KINKY, SILVERIO, PANTEON ROCOCO, LOS AMIGOS INVISIBLES, DIVISION MINUSCULA, the Mexican metal band S7N and many more,

Davidson pulled it off and except for a couple of the bands, he had never heard of the rest of them. He went to work educating himself fast on the incredible music of Mexican Rock and dove into action. He was building a town on the outskirts of town. "It seemed that the entire town really wanted it!" Hal said.

We brought everything in, 50 light towers backup generators, a huge 145' wide double stage to eliminate set changes, portajohns, showers, tents, trailers, campers for rent, and the cerveza was frio and only $5 a cup. Hard Liquor was also available, so the party went on for three days. Only two pot busts, no violence and the best behaved audience ever at a rock festival.

Journalists everywhere couldn't believe the talent roster, but it was true, he had signed contracts. Even Mariluz of Vesper PR in L.A, the acredited PR firm, needed assuarnaces all of these bands were actually booked for one festival in this remote location. One of the many FB videos was entitled "Where the hell is Quarrtzsite?"

Davidson and his two protoges tolied night and day for 6 months in this desert town where the only thing in abundance is dust and rocks. Summer Pop. 3,500.

Davidson situated the concert area at the foot of Q Mountain, the entire site was 118 acres.More than 90 positive articles proclaim the quality of the double stage production and the non-stop rock for two days during Spring Break, 2016.

The Fiesta featured an early entry day on Thursday March 17, so festivaliers could settle in early and party at hector and Pedro's Saloon and the Late Nioght Dance Tent where Matty Dee, Hal's associate produced the best Latino DJs in a state-of-the-art sound and lights show nitely after the main stage stopped at midnight and all day and night Thursday, the early entry day.

Starting with an Early Bird price of just $99 for the weekend, camping was only an extra $40 for three nights. The price graduated to $159 for the weekend at the gate. The festival attracted 6,000 attendees per day and they are all asking for ROCK FIESTA 2017.

As far as a Rock Fiesta's future in Quartzsite, Davidson said "not going to happen, just too expensive, not enough hotels and the remoate location drives up the costs.Did we mention a nasty La Paz County Sheriff's office? It's good the town doesn't like the Sheriff either. Plus we had an adversarial Events company and security company from Phoenix, I would never work with those people again." "So in every great festival there is always conflict", Davidson stated,

"We are working on bringing Rock Fiesta to another city in Arizona, we have friends in other places now, and they are excited about the possibility.", he said.
