IRVING, Texas - Sept. 26, 2016 - PRLog -- More than 700+ Technology Leaders will attend the DFW Technology Prayer Breakfast September 30, 2016 at Irving Convention Center in Irving, Texas.  2016 marks the third year of this gathering and it has grown enormously year over year.  Pat Gelsinger, CEO of VM Ware will be guest speaker for the DFW Technology Prayer Breakfast.  Each year the Merv Tarde Award is presented to a person in IT who personifies the Christ like virtues exemplified by Merv Tarde.

One of the very first supporters of the DFW Technology Prayer Breakfast was our friend Merv Tarde.  Merv was the Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer with Interstate Batteries for 16 years.  He modeled Servant Leadership and was a humble leader in the DFW Technology Industry where he served on a variety of Industry Boards and Advisory Councils.  His love for others and obedience to GOD has set the standard that we all should aspire to follow.  Merv lost his battle with cancer in late 2014 and is in the arms of his Heavenly Father today.

DFW Technology Prayer Breakfast committee desires to celebrate the example Merv set for us all in awarding the Merv Tarde "Values in Leadership" Circle each year.  Presenting this during our annual Prayer Breakfast is a way of remembering him, and recognizing these attributes of the recipient.

Criteria for the award focuses on five key areas where Merv set the bar:
•   Exhibiting the Fruit of the Spirit of GOD in their life
•   Mentoring – teaching and learning with others
•   Being Available to help and serve others
•   Humility – with Merv, it was always about others
•   High Expectations of themselves and others to be the best they can be

If you are within the IT space you will want to hear Gelsinger speak of his experiences, successes, failures and God's blessings in his career and you may want to host a table and invite your employees, customers, vendors and partners.  You will also be honored to learn more about Merv Tarde, his exemplary life and the recipient of the 2016 Award Mark A. So what is a Prayer Breakfast?
We believe that most people are searching for something more out of life but are not sure what that is.  We believe that longing will only be filed through a personal relationship with GOD and His son Jesus Christ.  Our Prayer Breakfast event creates a place for us to share just what that looks like in our personal and professional lives.

Our Mission is very simple:
"To create relevant business environments for DFW Technology Professionals where a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ is presented and nurtured."
