Beyond the Scores: Differential Diagnoses of Learning Disabilities and Comorbid Conditions

Suffolk County Psychological Association presents another Friday night workshop.This month's workshop will be about differential diagnosis of learning disabilities and comorbid conditions.

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. - Jan. 16, 2018 - PRLog -- ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
In this presentation, participants will learn about the differential diagnosis of learning disabilities and comorbid conditions such as ADHD and Speech/Language disorders. Through case studies, participants will learn how to interpret multiple pieces of data gathered in a comprehensive assessment to determine a child's learning profile. In addition, participants will be taught how to use a cross battery framework to identify cognitive, academic, and/or speech language areas to supplement for, depending on the particular referral concern.

At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees will be able to:

• Critique test selection to determine which areas need to be supplemented for;
• Interpret test results across disciplines when conducting differential diagnoses;
• Describe the cross battery framework;
• Identify areas that are common to both learning disabilities and speech/language disorders.
