PHILADELPHIA - Nov. 4, 2018 - PRLog -- 'Spike Lee's hit film School Daze celebrated the good, bad, and ugly of Black Greek life at Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU's). Thirty years later, members of the nation's oldest African American sorority are reviving this 80's classic in celebration of the 26th annual Philly's Men Are Cookin' on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 7 PM at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum located at 6825 Norwich Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia. More than 1,000 men and women are expected to dress in their favorite "old school" attire at the city's premier celebration of taste featuring great networking and fabulous entertainment with music from the 80's and 90's. This year there will also be a special "half-time" performance by members of the Lincoln University marching band. The marching band performances during college football games are a treasured tradition at HBCU's. Philly's Men Are Cookin' is sponsored by The Ivy Legacy Foundation, the non-profit arm of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Theta Omega Chapter, which uses proceeds from this annual fundraiser to award college scholarships, fund year-round mentoring programs, and to support educational endeavors of Philadelphia area youth..
