Peter Jericho Is Chicago's First Afro-Pop Artist; Watch His New Video "Influential"

CHICAGO - April 23, 2019 - PRLog -- Singer and songwriter Peter Jericho released a video for his latest single "Influential" ft. Jabal. Influential is a up tempo dance anthem that celebrates the accomplishments and apparent influence that Africans and African Americans have on the world. Peter and Jabal lace the verses and chorus with a commanding blend of french, english and pidgin chants starting with  "attention, tout le monde" (attention everyone). The video was shot in Houston Texas.

Dj ATM, the Cameroonian producer from Germany & Grammy Award winning producer Toxic, cooked up the track which combines traditional African music inspired by American hip hop, dance and soul. "Influential" may be easily identified as Afrobeats, the fastest growing music genre fueled from Lagos, Nigeria.

Peter has a unique style of his own. He was born to a Cameroonian family in Illinois, and also lived in different parts of Africa including Senegal and Cameroon for 11 years. Growing up on Chicago's westside but grounded in African tradition, Peter had an opportunity to experience life and culture from both perspectives. "I have influences from from gospel and American music along with traditional African music like Makossa and Bikutsi and with that wide range of sound I constructed something I can call my own" says peter on his musical style.

"Influential" is the first single from Peter's upcoming Audio One Media Group release "It Takes A Village". "It takes a Village is a classic. it's timely, it's culture, it's dope and Influential is just the match on the gas" says Chief Producer Fred "Toxic"Taylor. The album will drop mid-summer date TBD with features from Twista, Kardinal Offishall, Lynxxx, Jabal and a few surprises .

"Influential" is being well received and is a stand out at Peter's electrifying live performance sets. His action packed live performances has opened the doors for him to headline some pretty big tickets including 2018 African Festival Of The Art Chicago along with Keyshia Cole, Twista, Shaggy and Seun Kuti. Peter also was just added to the International Festival Of Life Festival Chicago 2019 one of Chicago's biggest cultural festivals. He is currently on a regional radio promotional tour introducing himself to new music lovers in the Afro-pop genre while continuing to perform and win over crowds.
