Spot Launches On-Demand Dog Walking in Toronto

TORONTO - May 23, 2019 - PRLog -- Spot, Canada's only on-demand dog walking app, has expanded their services to dog owners and dog walkers in Toronto. Spot Founder John Minchin will be in Toronto at Woofstock on May 25-26 to officially launch the app in the city.

Spot provides an all in one solution for dog lovers who want to give their pets more exercise. The app allows dog owners to book private dog walks with verified walkers instantly from their smartphones. Walks are guaranteed within 90 minutes, or the service is free.

"As a dog owner myself, I know how difficult it can be sometimes to make sure that your pet can go on walks and be able to get the exercise, stimulation, and bathroom time that they need," said Minchin. "We offer that service with the peace of mind that their dog will be with people who have been thoroughly verified and will take them on a private walk without other dogs competing for attention."

Dog owners can choose to book walks on-demand or on a recurring basis. Each walk is private, with dogs being walked only on their own or with another dog from the same household. Spot is insured, and all of the walkers go through a criminal background check, with only with only 1 per cent of walkers making it through the interview process. Spot provides owners with a free key lockbox for home access, and all walks are GPS tracked so you can see your dog's route. Walkers even report when he/she goes to the bathroom.

"There are more than 230,000 dogs in the area according to the City of Toronto, and life can get busy for dog owners," said Minchin. "Our goal is to make dog ownership easier and more accessible for dog lovers with busy lives so we can help drive dog adoption across the city, and across Canada."

Spot is already operating in Calgary, Edmonton, and Victoria, and has completed almost 40,000 walks to date.

The company also donates 10 cents from every 10 minute walk to local animal rescues and shelters, and has a goal of donating at least $5,000 each quarter to a different organization.
