OMAHA, Neb. - Aug. 18, 2020 - PRLog -- Dr. Seun Adetayo, renowned plastic surgeon, author and inspiring speaker, has posted a new blog on her website entitled, "Celebrating Women's Equality Day August 26th," in which Dr. Adetayo informs readers about the history of how women marched for the right to vote and equal rights.

Dr. Adetayo asks, "Did you know that in 1973, the U.S. Congress designated August 26 as "Women's Equality Day?" She continues adding, "In the United States, women marched for the right to vote and eventually women's right to vote was granted on August 26, 1920. Several decades later," Dr. Adetayo states, "women marched again – this time for equality – to be entitled to the full rights and privileges available to men, and this was granted by a joint resolution of Congress on August 26th, 1970."

"August 26th is a historic day for women," Dr. Adetayo states. She adds, "This year, coupled with the pandemic and civil unrest, women are joining together again to call for equality for all gender, racial and ethnic groups." Dr. Adetayo includes the website where the full Women's Equality Day Proclamation can be found. https://nationalwomenshistoryalliance.org/resources/commemorations/womens-equality-day/
