The U.S. Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC)/U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) is SEBAC's 2020 Award for Excellence Winner

WASHINGTON, D.C., D.C. - Oct. 30, 2020 - PRLog -- The Small Environmental Business Action Coalition (SEBAC) is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2020 Award for Excellence in Awarding Small Business Prime Contracts. SEBAC members have selected the U.S. Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC)/U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC). SEBAC presents the award to recognize a Federal agency's demonstrated commitment to small environmental business.

The procurement data, researched by Fedmine, was specific to NAICS codes 562910 and 541620 among Federal agencies. The data was evaluated based on the number and quality of agency procurements and the agency's overall commitment to small businesses to determine the recipient of the Award for Excellence. This evaluation is based on a pre-established set of criteria which includes these key components:

• The agency's ability to meet or exceed projected goals for the fiscal year;
• The agency's quality and quantity of small business awards;
• The agency's progress towards improvement in attaining goals (percentage increase and/or proven improvement); and
• The agency's consideration and responsiveness to SEBAC inquiries, acquisition plans that establish equal or higher contract values for small business versus unrestricted procurements, and other subjective criteria.

We are pleased to recognize the AFICC/AFCEC for its strong support of small environmental businesses as demonstrated by the quantity and quality of small business prime contracts.  In the Federal government fiscal year 2020, the Air Force far exceeded the SBA's statutory goal of 23% by awarding 66.6% of prime contractor dollars in NAICS 562910/541620 to small businesses. This was a significant increase from 2019 in which the Air Force obligated 49.4% in these NAICS codes to small businesses. We also recognize AFICC/AFCEC for acknowledging the strength of the environmental small business community by setting aside major contracts, such as the BRAC Environmental Construction Optimization Services (BECOS) and fence-to-fence environmental compliance contracts, for small businesses.

SEBAC President, John Dwyer will present the Award during SEBAC's Virtual Awards Presentation and Networking Reception/Happy Hour event on November 12, 2020.  Ms. Mary Urey-Streeper, Director, Small Business Programs Office, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC/SB), will accept the award.
