BURLINGTON, Ontario - Nov. 4, 2020 - PRLog -- Sherry Fang Liu, registered practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, recently announced the opening of her new practice location at the newly completed Healing Arts Health and Wellness Centre, 457 Plains Road East, Burlington, Ontario.

Liu is the co-founder of the Healing Arts Health and Wellness Centre and aided in the clinic's design. Along with her practice, a range of complementary services, such as massage therapy, naturopathy, osteopathy, and biofeedback are planned to be offered at the centre.

Through a combination of traditional and modern techniques at Healing Arts Acupuncture & TCM, Liu offers natural treatments for issues such as pain, post-traumatic recovery, infertility, stress, anxiety, and many chronic health conditions along with signature programs of cosmetic acupuncture and weight management.

Burlington health and wellness services

"I have been serving the Burlington and neighbouring communities with acupuncture treatments and Chinese medicine at various locations for a number of years and I'm excited to have this brand new, modern facility that is so conveniently located in Burlington's dynamic and growing Aldershot community," Liu said.

"As an immigrant to Canada, this project has been a dream come true," she added. "It will be a great asset to the community to have a top-notch facility housing not just my own practice, but those of other alternative and complementary health-care professionals as well."

"Together with neighbouring services at our location, we can really offer a one-stop location for the people of Burlington and surrounding regions to receive a range of excellent health and wellness related care," Liu said.

Career stretches from China to Canada

Liu's interest in health issues stretches back to her childhood, when she lost her father from illness. Growing up in a single parent household with two siblings and during tumultuous social and economic times in China, necessity taught her the importance of prevention and the therapeutic potential of natural remedies.

After completing studies in the pharmacy of traditional Chinese medicine at the renowned Pharmaceutical University of China she worked as a specialist in the research, quality control, and manufacture of herbal medicines.

Liu was among the earliest technical advisors in China to introduce and direct the implementation of internationally recognized Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards in the medicinal herbal product industry and was later employed by Squib, Glaxo, and Merck corporations as a pharmaceutical representative.

Ever the adventurous spirit and motivated by the desire to help even more people, she moved to Canada in 2004 where she continued to pursue her lifelong interest in Chinese medicine and earned licensure as a practitioner in the field.
