SOMERVILLE, N.J. - Feb. 1, 2022 - PRLog -- Lyons & Associates, P.C., a rapidly growing boutique firm with roots in matrimonial and family law, announces that Eric Marcy has joined the firm as Of Counsel and Chair of its brand new Criminal and Complex Litigation Department. A veteran of the Morris County, N.J., Prosecutor's Office and the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Marcy will handle a wide range of criminal, civil and administrative litigation.

Lyons & Associates also recently added practice areas of business and civil litigation, wills/trust/estates, real estate, elder law, and guardianship matters.

Marcy is a former shareholder at Wilentz Goldman & Spitzer P.A., one of New Jersey's oldest and most established firms, where he spent more than 36 years focusing on a wide variety of litigation including Criminal and Civil Litigation, Federal and State Civil Rights Litigation, Administrative Law, Professional Licensing, and Class Action litigation.

"We have been really lucky here at Lyons & Associates. While many other law firms were forced to lay off lawyers, we continue to grow," said Managing Partner Theresa A. Lyons, Esq. "It's a testament to how hard our entire team works, as well as the reputational capital we have accumulated over the years that is now paying dividends exponentially. We are super excited to have Eric Marcy join our team."

Marcy will work primarily out of the firm's Somerville and Morristown offices, although his practice crosses the entire State of New Jersey, including federal courts.

"Lyons & Associates is a team of young, strong, smart and scrappy lawyers where the energy is high and it's still fun to practice the law. I welcome the transition," said Marcy.

Lyons called Marcy's addition to the firm an example of "the Great Resignation," seasoned professionals re-examining what matters most and pivoting as result. According to PwC, one in four people voluntarily quit their jobs from January through August, 2021, and some 65 percent of employees searched for a new job during that time frame.

"The COVID pandemic has dramatically altered the workplace landscape. People are reassessing and re-thinking their work and life goals. They are recognizing that dynamic change is positive and that new possibilities improve the quality of life and enthusiasm one has for one's career," she said.

Marcy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College, graduating magna cum laude, and earned his JD degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. He lives in Morris County, N.J.
