[Study] Most Googled "How to" Question in 51 Different States 2022

CHICAGO - Sept. 20, 2022 - PRLog -- Millions of Americans use Google's smart algorithms to have their burning questions answered.

However, It turns out some questions are asked significantly more in some states.

Interesting Findings

1. How to delete Facebook account.

Multiple states seem to be done with Facebook or Meta as it's also called. Residents in Idaho, Montana, New Mexico and Wyoming are looking for ways to delete their Facebook account in masses. "How to delete Facebook account" is one of the most popular questions people seem to ask in these areas. Is this the beginning of the end for Facebook?

2. How to get rid of gnats.

It seems a lot of the states in the south seem to be suffering from insects. Gnats to be specific. In 17 of the 51 states in the US "How to get rid of gnats" seems to be the most popular question. Gnats reproduce quickly and in very large numbers, so it's understandable that some homeowners are looking to Google for answers to their problems.

3. How to renew passport.

While the states in the south are busy trying to battle off swarms of gnats, states on both the east and west coasts seem to be more preoccupied with their passport status.

Perhaps they've given up their battle with gnats and moving to a different country altogether?

4. How to cook spaghetti squash

While residents in the other 50 states are dealing with travel, insects, cars and social media, residents in Maine seem to be primarily occupied with creating a delicious spaghetti squash dish. Some people just have their priorities straight.

Methodology

Science Happiness analyzed the search volume for 11 of the most Googled "How to…" questions from each state in 2022. These 11 questions were chosen based on data from AHRefs, and Google Trends.
