CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - March 2, 2023 - PRLog -- Applied Video Imaging, a provider of rugged video products for airborne, ground, and marine surveillance missions, introduced its new VGA to 3-G SDI Video Converter.  The AVI C200301-00 VGA to SDI Video Scaling Converter is a rugged stand-alone unit that  converts VGA and composite analog video inputs to scaled SD, HD, or 3-G SDI video outputs.

Low latency, high performance processing of analog VGA video or composite NTSC/PAL inputs provides selectable SDI output resolutions and frame rates. Inputs are autodetected and aspect ratio processing is also user selectable.

Stand-alone or in combination with various AVI system components, AVI's rugged VGA to SDI Video Scaling Converter offers a high-performance solution.

Measuring just 7.13" x 1.45" x 3.62" [181 x 36.81 x 92 mm] and under 1.5 pounds [0.65 kg], AVI's converter packs a lot of capability into a small and rugged package.  Both analog VGA and composite NTSC/PAL inputs are supported and SDI SMPTE 259/292M/424M output formats.  The C200301-00 provides many benefits including SDI video transmission over 100m. Two SDI outputs provide video redundancy or outputs for multiple displays with reduced complexity in wiring.

"AVI's new VGA to SDI Scaling Converter adds to our line of video conversion products providing additional capability for the design and implementation of effective video-based mission systems," said Bruce Carriker, President and Founder of AVI. "Providing additional input resolutions besides SDI standards and being able to set the SDI resolution and frame rate of the converted video has been a common request from our customers. AVI is now able to provide that capability in a fully DO-160 certified product with even better environmental performance than its predecessor."

Designed to DO-160 standards, AVI's rugged C200301-00 accepts 9-36 volts DC power, operates from -45⁰C to +70⁰C, rotor craft U2 vibrations, IP67 water ingress rating, among many others. The unit is designed for use in airborne, ground, marine, and defense surveillance systems. Based on SMPTE SDI video standards, it can be used with any VGA or NTSC/PAL video source and any SDI capable display.
