Published on December 6, 2023, this is the fourth version of the standard, replacing the 2012 iteration. The new standard aims to enhance understanding and facilitate better care practices for textile products with new symbols and terminology to improve clarity and conciseness.

Key revisions:
- Scope updated with additional exemptions
- New symbols for wash by hand at ambient temperature
- New symbols for ironing without steam
- Additional dry-cleaning solvent options
- Several symbols changed to align with GINETEX symbols (do not iron, do not bleach, do not wash, and hand wash)

- Annex D adds information for the practice of adapting registered graphical symbols

The document establishes a set of graphic symbols for marking textile articles and provides information on the most severe treatments that will not cause irreversible damage during the textile care process. It also outlines the utilization of these symbols in care labeling.
