San Jose firm PP&Co names Phuong Mayer Chief Executive Officer

SAN JOSE, Calif. - March 28, 2024 - PRLog -- PP&Co, a leading firm with offices in San Jose and Santa Cruz, introduces Phuong Mayer as Chief Executive Officer. Named one of the Silicon Valley Business Journal's 2022 Women of Influence for her strong record of innovation, outstanding performance, and a history of meaningful community involvement, Mayer has long been an advocate of the accounting profession and passionate about helping others develop a sustainable career in public accounting.

As a Partner at PP&Co, Mayer oversaw the firm's professional development program, including a competency framework, training and professional development, and the firm's mentor program. She was also instrumental in designing an innovative firm organizational structure to clarify roles and responsibilities and managed operations under that structure, seeking ways to streamline processes in each of the business units. In recent years, she's led the firm's digital transformation efforts with the goal of promoting a culture of working smarter, not harder. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of California at Santa Cruz and a Master of Science in Accountancy from San Jose State University.

Mayer came with her family to the United States from Vietnam as a refugee. Her journey to CEO has been informed and influenced by her experiences as a first-generation immigrant growing up in Oakland, striving toward the American dream.
