Winner Aviation Hosts Third Annual Trumbull County Drone Racing League Competition

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - April 4, 2024 - PRLog -- Youngstown, Ohio - Winner Aviation is thrilled to announce the eagerly anticipated third annual Trumbull County Drone Racing League Competition, set to take place on Saturday, April 13th, 2024. This year's event promises to be the largest yet, with 19 teams representing various Trumbull County School Districts converging for a day of exhilarating competition and innovation.

Hosted once again within Winner Aviation's expansive hangars at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and the PIA Youngstown campus, the competition is a testament to the growing interest and enthusiasm for drone technology within the community. Winner Aviation has collaborated with key partners including the Trumbull County Educational Service Center, Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics Youngstown Campus, Drones in School, MultiGP, and the Youngstown Air Force Reserve to orchestrate this premier event.

Each participating team, comprising students from across Trumbull County, has been equipped with two race drones along with essential resources including a 3-D printer, starter kits, and professional development training courtesy of Drones In School. The competition will feature a diverse range of challenges including head-to-head racing, capture-the-flag contests, and portfolio presentation displays, providing participants with a comprehensive platform to showcase their talents and creativity.

Adding to the excitement, professional drone pilots from MultiGP will be on hand to offer guidance and support to the aspiring competitors. The event will be inaugurated by Youngstown Air Force Reserve Master Sergeant Jorge Martinez, highlighting the collaborative efforts between educational institutions and the armed forces in fostering innovation and skill development among youth.

The Drones In School program, a cornerstone of the competition, offers students invaluable hands-on experience across the entire engineering process, from design and construction to piloting and racing. By empowering students to build and race their own drones, the program aims to cultivate a new generation of skilled professionals poised to excel in the rapidly evolving field of drone technology.
