April 11, 2024 - PRLog -- Enterprise resource planning (ERP) specialist, Cooper Software has today launched automated testing for IFS Cloud that spans testing strategy, test case consultancy, and test execution. The system integrator is bringing automation into its solution mix with application lifecycle management (ALM) technology. Already a proven concept with some of Cooper Software's large enterprise clients, the Company's outsourced software testing model is designed to also assist smaller organisations that may not have test team resources in-house.

Cooper Software has long understood testing strategy and consulted with clients on the best practice of early-stage planning. As technical experts of IFS software applications, the Company is accelerating projects by leveraging templates, frameworks, and processes for test case execution. This can include consulting with clients to define which test cases are operationally critical, and training in-house teams to write test cases.

IFS software became 'evergreen' with the launch of IFS Cloud; with updates being released every six months. To benefit from that cadence of new features and functions, customers must now validate at pace that new patches will not disrupt their already complex ERP environment. While Cooper Software supports customers on many versions of IFS, the choice to operate ERP in the Cloud opens-up automated testing options.

Lee Mackreath, Senior Account Manager at Cooper Software adds, "We were early to bring barcode scanning and non-destructive testing (NDT) to the market and one of the first to deliver IFS Cloud. We are now ahead in anticipating the automated testing needs of present and future IFS customers. Having a test strategy to underpin your evergreen IFS Cloud deployment is hugely helpful and automating it makes the process much smarter."

In the US, businesses lose roughly $60 billion every year because of software bugs1. According to Code Intelligence, 70 percent of all product defects are caused by a failure during the stages of planning, design, or preparation. Organisations that dedicate time to proper testing spend 22 percent less time on unplanned work, so they can allocate 29 percent more time to work on new features. Aside from deploying 200 times more frequently, they have 2,555 times faster lead times and bounce back 24 times faster2.
