Trevor McShane Tackles "Susie Darlin'"

LOS ANGELES - April 18, 2024 - PRLog -- It's quite a trick to take a song almost 70 years old, redo it and outdo it. But Trevor McShane has done just that with the classic "Susie Darlin'."

First released in 1958 by Robin Luke (who wrote it) the song was a huge hit, getting to #5 on the Billboard charts.

The new version is by Trevor McShane, a prolific singer and songwriter who has performed extensively throughout the Southern California area. He is presently riding high, especially on YouTube with his original tune "Masterpiece".

"Susie Darlin'" was produced and mixed by Barry Keenan, who also played the instruments, and released through Downtown/DashGo Distribution.

Trevor was created in 2000 as the nom de plume of Neville Johnson upon the release of his debut album, First Love, Last Love. Neville is an extremely successful attorney, who is for the past five years has been named as a Top 100 Lawyer in Southern California by Super Lawyers, which is peers voted). Additionally, he was named one of the top 100 Power Lawyers in Entertainment Law by The Hollywood Reporter every year since 2008, and in 2020 was moved to the new permanent category of "Legal Legend." He has a large practice at Johnson & Johnson in Beverly Hills representing talent, including bringing class actions for musicians to be properly compensated by the record companies and music publishers. Why change names? He did not want his "lawyer status affected by my musical endeavors, plus I wanted the music to be taken on its own merit," Neville says.

"It's own merits" included a recent sold out show at the legendary Write Off Room in Los Angeles and almost 200,000 views on YouTube for his song "Masterpiece" with "Susie Darlin'" climbing right up behind it.
