Oral Cancer

Every year, there are more than 30,000 cases of oral cancer that is diagnosed in the US alone. Oral cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer, and this is where your dentist is an obvious expert in screening and catching this. Each visit, they are checking for any warning signs that would indicate you are at risk. Some symptoms of oral cancer include red and white lesions on the tongue, palate, and gums. Certain risk factors also increase your chances of getting cancer. This can include things like smoking, HPV virus, heavy drinking, and tooth decay.

Diabetes

One of the biggest signs of diabetes is bleeding gums. Some other signs include dry mouth, receding gums and dry gums. If you have diabetes, your body tends to react differently to infections and wounds. This can make it hard to fight off diseases effectively and prevent problems.
