June 21, 2007 - PRLog -- tutorNEXT today announced the launch of its one-on-one interactive online academic summer tutoring program (http://www.tutornext.com/summer_prog.html) for school students. The program offers a systematic and guided approach to getting a head start for the next grade through high-quality, cost-effective, and convenient one-on-one tutoring.

Students who are busy with their summer activities can plan for these tutoring sessions around their other summer camps and still remain in touch with Math and English. To prevent the learning loss that happens during the summer break, tutorNEXT teachers have created a highly focused summer program to ensure that students are prepared for the next academic session.

“20 hours of one-on-one tutoring any time through June to August for $350 – an effective rate of just $17.50 for each session! That’s very good value for money, especially considering that other summer programs do not even offer one-on-one help,” says Ashwin Bhave, Co-founder and Director at tutorNEXT.

tutorNEXT assigns students a dedicated personal tutor who conducts a diagnostic test, assesses strengths and development areas, and builds a personalized tutoring plan. Tutoring sessions are fully interactive with the teacher and student speaking via a computer-connected headset and using a shared Internet whiteboard to exchange information – making the session very similar to a face-to-face interaction (http://www.tutornext.com/difference.html).

“We believe that personal tutoring during the summer can help students who struggled during the school year.  They can use one-on-one sessions to reinforce topics and concepts covered in school so that they feel better prepared for the next class. High performing students can use our summer program to get started on the next grade, as well as to review material from the current grade that’s important for the next academic year. Obtaining an experienced tutor who can teach late in the evening based on their schedule is expensive and difficult, if not impossible. We provide personal help to these students at a time that’s convenient for them, whether it is after returning from summer activities or after spending a day outdoors,” says Ashwin.

The popularity of online tutoring has been growing for the last few years because of its convenience, effectiveness, and low cost relative to classroom or in-home tutoring.
“With my athletic training schedule, getting a tutor at home or going to a center was never an option. Now, I can take lessons even late in the evening after winding down from my training program. I never had that option before,” says Tyler Smith, a grade 9 student who has joined tutorNEXT’s summer program in Algebra. “The program is wonderful! I barely got through my algebra class last year, so I am using the summer to get a better grounding in math to prepare me for Algebra 2 and Geometry next year.”

tutorNEXT (http://www.tutornext.com) offers one-on-one tutoring programs in Math, English, and Physics as well as Test Preparation (GT, TJ, SAT, GMAT, GRE, GED) for K-12 and college students for $20 per hour. Students may also sign up for its homework help program priced at $99/month.
