Credit Card Genie comments on Christmas Credit use

Dec. 18, 2007 - PRLog -- According to a recent report, millions of shoppers in the UK are turning to their credit cards to fund their last minute purchases as Christmas draws near.

The report from Sainsbury's Bank suggests that almost one pound in every five spent on British high streets will be placed on credit cards during the final week before Christmas, amounting to almost 2.1 billion pounds worth of festive spending.

Head of cards at Sainsbury's Bank, Donald MacLeod, commented:

"There are a number of credit cards to choose from all offering different terms and conditions so it is important to ensure that you have the right one for you."

Sainsburys Bank is expecting to see £11.85 billion pounds worth of last minute Christmas shopping in 2007 – which is more than a £2 billion bump up on 2006.
