Founded more than 20 years ago, the Brownson Technical School has long been dedicated to providing students of all ages with the career training they need. Today, they accomplish this task by offering students the chance to train in the computer-aided drafting and design and HVAC/R fields. Although focused on very different aspects of the technology industry, these disciplines share a close link thanks to their dependence on architecture and mechanics. Case in point: computer-aided drafting and design. What sounds like a highly concentrated subject within graphic design is actually a profession devoted to the creation of mechanical and/or architectural plans through the use of computer software. Students of computer-aided drafting and design have to learn how to properly transfer their ideas -- or others' concepts -- into accurate designs that can be used as a basis for the construction of prototypes, buildings, and more. HVAC/R, meanwhile, is focused on the various heating, cooling, and ventilation systems that are used in buildings and devices. Depending on which of Brownson Technical School's three HVAC/R programs a student chooses, she or he could learn about anything from refrigerators and air conditioners, to ventilation systems and major appliance repair. One HVAC/R program even trains students in the latest in Direct Digital Controls (DDC) technology -- a system that allows clients to control multiple HVAC/R systems from one computer. No matter which technical program a student chooses to embark upon, Brownson Technical School will provide them with the options that need to get their education and career on the move. For example, the school allows students of both programs to choose from amongst conveniently scheduled day and evening classes. And with new courses beginning the first Monday of every month, it's easy for any student to get into the groove of learning. While the overall length of schooling depends on the type of program and schedule chosen, a student can expect to spend between 15 to 45 weeks attending day classes, or 50 to 81 weeks in an evening program. Once students have satisfactorily completed their courses, earning a Certificate of Completion in the process, they can turn to this technical institution's placement services for help landing a position in the industry. They may also choose to transfer to another institution and continue their education thanks to Brownson Technical School's transfer agreement with other schools. As a member of the "Transfer Alliance," and having received accreditation by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT), Brownson Technical School is one of several accredited institutions that have promised to accept transfer students into their programs, provided that their school credits are comparable. Whether you're ready to jump into the workforce, or interested in seeking further training, Brownson Technical School has the technical programs that may help get you there.
