PhotoBox sponsors Renaissance Exhibition Inspiring photographers to see the world through new eyes

Europe’s favourite destination for digital photo storing, sharing and printing is delighted to announce its association with Renaissance, a Photography Competition in aid of the Lavender Trust - Breast Cancer Care, patronised by Helena Christensen.

May 6, 2008 - PRLog -- Renaissance is the brainchild of Fiona Gifford, a 34 year old lawyer who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. Following her recovery, Fiona realised how little she and her peers knew about breast cancer. As a keen amateur photographer, she felt that a competition that invited you to celebrate life and love in the face of adversity was the perfect way to raise money and awareness for breast cancer in younger people. Since its launch, the competition has attracted over 300 entries with over 700 individual images raising almost £5,000 from photographers alone.

The winning entries have been chosen by an award winning judging panel including KT Tunstall, Mary McCartney and Eammonn McCabe, a freelance photographer who was named photographer of the year six times. Thanks to sponsorship by PhotoBox, the images will be exhibited at The Proud Galleries. The exhibition will be launched with a star studded gala attended by celebrities including patron Helena Christensen.

PhotoBox is incredibly proud to sponsor The Renaissance Exhibition which will showcase over 80 images that made it through the judging panel’s final selection including the winning image, all of which will be available to purchase with proceeds going to The Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care. This continues PhotoBox’s support for Breast Cancer charities after first establishing a link in 2007 with Breast Cancer Campaign by developing a limited edition PhotoBook that was sold in aid of the charity.
