| Saber Research Releases “Team vs. Wild” Survival programIndianapolis, IN — Saber Research, a unique Midwest team building and leader development company is conducting a wilderness survival workshop 8am-12pm Saturday 16 Aug 2008 at Ft Ben Harrison State Park.
By: Saber Research Each winter we hear stories of families stranded in dire situations while traveling or on routine outings. In the summer months there are often news stories of lost hikers or scouts. We hear of search parties looking for people who are lost or stranded as a result of fairly routine hikes or trips. “You just never know when you’re going to be stranded and need some type of survival skills” said Scott Mitten, COO, Saber Research. “If people caught in emergency survival situations apply basic survival techniques they will almost always reduce rescue time, improve physical and mental condition of survivors, and possibly save lives”. Learning and practicing survival skills is fun, informative, and a great way to spend some outdoor time. There are many practical survival techniques people overlook when they need them the most. “We want people to have some fun, learn something, and leave our workshop with confidence in their newly acquired skills.” says Mitten. "Practicing basic survival skills with the assistance of an experienced instructor creates confidence. When the survival skills are actually needed prior instruction and some hands on practice improves the odds of success. It’s much better to apply these basic survival skills in a fun low stress situation than trying them the first time in an emergency”. Saber Research maintains a network of highly qualified instructors and mentors who served in the United States Army as leaders, coaches, and trainers for some of the most decorated units in the military. “Our instructor / facilitators are experienced veterans of Ranger, Special Forces, USMC Recon, and Airborne military units. We have the ability to serve clients through a network of certified instructors across the United States” says Mitten. Graduates of the Army and Air Force Survival Schools design and develop custom training and adventure programs for corporate, government, and professional organizations, who want to practice team building and communication skills in an outdoor environment. Saber Research’s “Team vs. Wild” provides exactly that. “We’ve created a fantastic program for organizations to spend time together learning and practicing skills that may someday save their lives,” says Mitten. “Everyday we meet people who want to learn these skills; people want to know how to take care of themselves and their families when adversity strikes. This is a great way to introduce people to the programs we offer and to get them involved with thinking about survival and emergency skills well before they actually need them.” For more information and registration for the Saturday 16 Aug “Team vs. Wild” introductory workshop, call (317) 341-3124, or visit online at www.saber-group.net Couses range from government oriented multi-day S.E.R.E.
