Winning Combination For The Olympics

Caffeine could be beneficial to sport...more research is being untaken to outline its potential.

July 22, 2008 - PRLog -- Who would believe it? Having previously thought of my office coffee and tea breaks as times of rest, relaxation and a chance to put my feet up, apparently I’ve been honing my body into the ultimate sporting machine. All that time spent guiltily sipping mugs of Kenyan Dawn (http://www.myflavia.com/eu/RetailExtensions/ProductDetailPage.aspx?product=F330) with extra milk, two sugars and a chocolate biscuit has not only made me a more efficient member of staff (http://www.newtodrinksvending.com/2008/05/the-best-things.html) but has also paved the way for my new career – as an Olympic athlete.

Javier Okay, those of you who know me will be choking into their cups right now. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m 5ft high and tackling Javier Sotomayor’s 2.45 metre high jump record might be slightly out of my reach in more ways that one! That’s possibly out of my comfort zone, but who knows, if I continue drinking the fantastic drinks from our office coffee machine (http://www.myflavia.com/EU/en-GB/Work) at my present rate, I might be fit to enter the parents’ race at sports day next year – that’s surely a start on the path to 2012.

If you are wondering why I am feeling so positive about my sporting future, a recent study by the American Physiological Society showed that athletes training with caffeinated drinks can help the body in its uptake of glucose from the muscles. I will be doing plenty of advance research before next year’s sport day. Make mine a Smooth Roast please.
