July 25, 2008 - PRLog -- The UK Jewellery Awards event took place at the Grovenor House Hotel, Park Lane last Thursday 17th July. It was a spectacular event presented by Mica Paris, soul singer and TV presenter and hosted by the leading business title Retail Jeweller. The catwalk show presented stunning pieces of jewellery, which made a huge impact on the fashion runway and the awards were presented to each winner of the jewellery categories.

Highlights of the catwalk event will be shown on QVC TV shopping channel 630, on Tuesday 22nd July at 10am and 4pm.

Fameo, one of the finalists in the competition won the Bridal Jewellery of the Year award with their ‘Imperial Wedding’ Collection, which offers a mix of imperial morganite and princess-cut diamonds and the ‘Tsarina’ Collection which combines pinkish pearls and gold with diamonds. “Any bride would really be proud to wear this jewellery on her wedding day” enthused one judge. “There is a real sense of romance about these pieces”.

The second wedding collection from Fameo is the ‘Tsarina’ collection and inspiration comes from the last Empress of Russia.

Tsarina is the term used for a Czar’s wife and the last Empress of Russia was Tsarina Alexandra. She was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria of England, and the sister of Grand Duchess Elizabeth, who also became a Holy Martyr in Russia, the wife of His Imperial Majesty Tsar Nicholas II.

This jewellery collection is designed in mind of Tsarina’s life, where the pearl represents Tsarina and the golden cage represents her life in confinement and the diamonds represent her family and what they meant to her.
