Jack Bloxham To Represent Amusement Park Accident Victims Of Santa Cruz Boardwalk

Oct. 1, 2008 - PRLog -- Santa Cruz, Calif. – The mother and son injured due to an amusement park ride accident on August 4, 2008, at the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz have retained Bay Area injury attorney Jack Bloxham to represent them in their injury claims.

Gabriela Lindheimer and her 9-year-old son, Sebastian Palmieri, of Martinez, California were riding the “Cyclone” ride when part of the ride began to detach. The ride's door unlatched while the ride was spinning causing it to slam against the pavement and the cage as the ride turned.  The door eventually detached and was flung a distance, narrowly missing other people on the boardwalk.

Sebastian was struck in the back by the detached ride and required a substantial amount of therapy as a result of the amusement park accident. Gabriela was also struck by the ride, injuring her foot.  She was required to wear a special boot for several weeks to help it heal, and has also received therapy.

After the accident they were formally escorted out of the park by boardwalk security. Mr. Bloxham stated that injury victims are often treated poorly because those at fault do not want to face their own responsibility for causing the accident.  “It is easier to blame the victims, or accuse them of exaggerating.  Most often, folks who are hurt only want what’s fair, not some exaggerated amount.  We intend to help Gabriela and Sebastian get fair compensation.  If the boardwalk is not held accountable, public safety will inevitably slip even further.”
