International Speakers Invited To Participate

Oct. 3, 2008 - PRLog -- The largest Christian Women’s Speakers Directory in the world, www.WomenSpeakers.com has launched a new website platform with the capacity to welcome international speakers to its ranks.

www.WomenSpeakers.com is already a one-stop shop for thousands of  United States event planners who frequent the site in search of the perfect guest for their next event.

www.WomenSpeakers.com is designed to offer greater breadth and scope than similar services: The site currently features over 800 United States speakers, search-able by name, location, denominational affiliation and experience level.  Several hundred listings also include favorite topics and event types, reference letters, photos, personal notes, audio and video clips and more.

“We have received requests from non-U.S. speakers and event planners for years, but were not in a position to accommodate until now,” said Marnie Swedberg, web hostess of the site.  

The site was created in 2001 when Swedberg faced a personal struggle with a speaker search: “I found myself, as an Event Planner, needing another speaker for an upcoming event, but not knowing who to call. Our committee had exhausted all of the speakers we knew,” Swedberg said. “It was also about that time that I found myself, as a Christian Woman Speaker, needing to turn down more and more of the invitations I was receiving personally. Each time I did, I heard the same question I had been asking, ‘Do YOU know of any good speakers? We just don’t know who else to call.’”

Swedberg was an active Internet user at the time and realized the potential networking capabilities of the World Wide Web for helping Event Planners and Speakers connect, thereby saving both parties valuable time, money and frustration.

The speakers who are currently registered with the site give positive feedback on Swedberg’s vision. Florida speaker, Barbara Benton, said, “I definitely feel this site gets my information out there…. I was listed with another site, which I am not renewing, because I think more traffic comes from the Christian Women’s Speakers Directory.”
