TekTone® Sound and Signal
Oct. 30, 2008 -
PRLog -- TekTone®'s new system begins with the first machine, an automatic screen printer (#1), which applies the solder past to the board. The board continues on to the automatic pick and place machine (#2), which can attach about 10,000 components per hour. Finally, the board passes through the oven (#3) to complete the soldering process. The oven has 7 heating zones, versus only 3 heating zones in the previous oven, making it easier for the company to tweak settings for different boards (and for lead-free solder). Each zone has seperate settings for top and bottom heat, and the oven includes a conveyor that supports boards by their edges. These two features enable TekTone® to make double-sided circuit boards in-house for the first time. With this setup, TekTone® can make more than 200 boards in just half a day, and it's more accurate and flexible than the previous system. Over the next 2-3 months, TekTone® wil be completing the system by adding conveyor belts to carry the boards from one machine to to the next. TekTone®
