PRLog -- Nancy Balik-FitzGerald is the director of communications for the Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS), an organization that helps women in dermatology realize and fulfill their greatest potential through active participation of members who represent a diverse cross section of professionals in the areas of private practice, academia, managed care and industry. Nancy has been with WDS since 2004 and is responsible for a wide range of communications and initiatives for the media, the public and professionals of dermatology. She is involved extensively with outreach efforts that promote public awareness of sun safety and endorse skin healthcare. Nancy has three decades of experience in communications and public relations consultancy, and has been acknowledged for her many achievements in writing, radio, and television. Most recently, on behalf of the Women’s Dermatologic Society, Nancy worked with Al Roker Entertainment to produce, America’s Ethnic Skin: An Al Roker Health Special, which aired nationwide on NBC. Nancy graduated cum laude from Emerson College in Boston, with a bachelor’s degree in speech communications. She is a member of the Association of Women in Communications and recently presented, A Broader Relational View of Public Relations in the Digital Age, to the Santa Barbara chapter. Nancy has served on numerous boards and volunteers for the Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation. In her spare time, Nancy enjoys golf, tennis, dance, the beach, and being with family.
