Who is Edward Mercer?

Nov. 13, 2008 - PRLog -- Here we are at the beginning so to speak; to know more about the “real” Edward Mercer, we must go back in time to his humble beginnings. Ed grew up just like any other kid in this day and age, in the care of his grandparents. However, he lost them soon and was living on the streets by the time he was 15 years old. But he turned it all around. Ed became one of the greatest salesmen and marketer of Herbal Life, making as much as $100,000 on a monthly basis and with as many as 1.3 million people in his down line.

Edward Mercer then went on to get into real estate and is now one of the biggest real estate developers in Costa Rica today. The way that Costa Rica is now is proof of how Mr. Mercer has helped to change the way things are in this country. No longer do people have to suffer needlessly, Edward Mercer has extended a helping hand to what are considered the downtrodden, or poor folk.

Such success usually gets to peoples heads, but as he grew older, Edward became more of the humanitarian that he is today. He began a foundation called The Edward R. Mercer Foundation with the aim to help people. The Foundation itself is said to help with “developmental issues”. You can tell how much Edward Mercer cares about animals and plants as a whole. This makes his whole humanitarian outreach reach out to the entire world. Mr. Mercer also makes it a habit to donate some of his proceeds to things that are important to him, for example the reforestation of Costa Rica.

When Ed found out that little school children had no proper roads there or buses to get to school, he changed all of that. Ed pushed for the roads to be built and arranged the buses that would be the transportation for many people in Costa Rica. He cared enough to get his hands dirty so to speak and has been involved with many charity foundations like missing children, and Feed the Child. Ed Mercer also helps with children who are disabled and also helped to set up a hot line for battered housewives. Women who have been abused by their husbands can call for help or even advice.

Edward Mercer not only loves humankind but also he adores animals as well and he does the best he can in that department too. This is why he is so popular, he has been dubbed Mr. Costa Rica, and with good reason too.

As mentioned, Ed is also dedicated to the preservation of wildlife. He has started an uprising to protect the Sea Turtles, White-Faced Monkeys, and the Scarlet Macaws which are all species that are being threatened and are in danger of becoming extinct. For a man that has so much money it is very surprising to see that Edward Mercer is not wrapped up in himself, he actually keeps up to date on things that are happening in the world around him and like a super hero he swoops in to save the day!

Just lately Edward Mercer was given the honor of being inducted into the Environmental Hall of Fame which is based in the United States for his pioneering efforts. It is because of Ed’s continuous efforts to help preserve the endangered species of Costa Rica that they are not extinct today. It is no wonder then that Ed’s noble efforts are recognized all over the world as he is not only a successful entrepreneur but also an environmentalist and humanitarian par excellence.
