Master David Turnbull Receives Eponymous Award

Nov. 14, 2008 - PRLog -- Master David Turnbull of Sorrento, Florida was recently awarded an eponymous award in honor of his team's acheivement at the comBATON Championships held at the Disney Martial Arts Festival. He is a coach/player of the Samurai comBATON team and the owner  of DC Turnbull Taekwondo. (http://www.myspace.com/dcturnbulltaekwondo)

The comBATON Samurai playing out of DC Turnbull TKD in Lake Mary, Fl were awarded the 2008 Championship Trophy for the season-ending Tournament of Games held at the Disney Martial Arts Festival in a surprise visit to Master Turnbull's testing retreat in remote Volusia County. Master Turnbull's martial arts master was present along with many of his students and teammates.

The comBATON Championship Trophy was renamed the "Turnbull Award" by commissioner Steve Blanton. The award was named in honor of Master Turnbull's contributions to comBATON and will always be the most prestigious award the league will give. The names of all of the 2008 season players were engraved on the trophy as well.

ComBATON plans to give the Turnbull Award to the team that wins the greatest number of divisions at the Disney Martial Arts Festival comBATON Championships each year. The comBATON Samurai are already making plans to earn a matching trophy next year.
