PRLog -- Dr. Frederik C. Botha is the chief executive officer of Sugar Research & Development Corp., an organization that works in partnership with the Australian sugarcane industry and the Australian government to foster an innovative and sustainable sugarcane industry, through targeted investment in research and development. Dr. Botha has been in this capacity since 2008 and is responsible for overseeing all of the day to day operations. He is also depended on to establish, prioritize and implement research programs, strategic development and public relations. Dr. Botha has more than 30 years of experience in plant research and is well known and respected within the international sugarcane industry. Prior to joining SRDC, he served as director of the South African Sugarcane Research Institute and developed three processes for identifying sugar levels which were awarded international patents. Dr. Botha graduated from the University of Pretoria with a PhD in biotechnology and is active in several industry associations. He maintains a dynamic philanthropic profile within the Brisbane community and supports a variety of organizations that benefit scientific research. In his spare time, Dr. Botha enjoys fishing, boating , reading and being with family.
