PRLog -- Dr. Gilbert R. Irwin is the president and founder of Medical Missionaries, a non-profit organization that delivers medical care to the impoverished, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation. With the assistance of a small group of doctors, nurses and volunteers, and through the collection and donation of goods, Medical Missionaries has been serving the unfortunate for over twelve years. Dr. Irwin has been with Medical Missionaries since 1997 and is depended on to assist with diagnosing and treating patients, and for educating the community about healthcare and medical treatment. Dr. Irwin specializes in infectious disease and is an esteemed member of the AMA, the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, the Wilderness Medical Society and several local hospital societies. He graduated from the New Jersey College of Medicine with an MD in internal medicine and has maintained a private practice for over thirty five years. Dr. Irwin is equally active within the community on a personal level and, in addition to his dedicated service to the impoverished, supports the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Foundation. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, outdoor activities and playing Jazz and Ragtime on the piano.
