Canada Has New Star as Vancouver Vocalist Janyse Jaud Breaks International Barriers

Nov. 17, 2008 - PRLog -- Vancouver, BC – Vancouver vocal artist Janyse Jaud has been nominated for Best Song in the Contemporary Christian category at this year’s Hollywood Music Awards. The song, “Blessed Is This Holy Night”, is from her acclaimed “The Magic of Christmas” CD and began a hugely successful 2008 for Janyse.              
   
The Hollywood Music Awards (HMA) is the only red carpet style event of its kind in the world that celebrates music in new visual mediums. From traditional to experimental music, the awards recognize both signed and unsigned artists and are widely recognized as one of the major awards nights in the music world.      

“I’m very excited to be nominated in the awards with such great company,” says Janyse about her place in this year’s Best Song category. “To know that your music has made an impact and that people see it as more than just a Christmas song… It’s very humbling and a great honour.”  

It’s not the first time that Janyse’s “The Magic of Christmas” has been in the news – it was awarded the Best Jazz CD at the Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards. Along with her children’s CD “The Magic of Think”, the CD was also part of the collection of gifts that were in this year’s Grammy and Oscar awards night nominee gift bags. Her CD collection was also in the spotlight at the Digital Hollywood Charity/Celebrity Benefit last month.    

As well as being an acclaimed artist in her own right, Janyse is vocal in her support for others less fortunate. Her “The Magic of Think” children’s CD tells the story of the three members of the Magic of Think band and their discovery of friendship, happiness and courage through positive thinking.

Janyse is also one of the most popular artists on video-sharing site Youtube with her song “Dreamers”. The parallel between the song’s message and the vision of hope and change that saw Barack Obama elected to the US presidency hasn’t gone unnoticed and has increased interest in Janyse worldwide.

The Hollywood Music Awards 2008 take place on Thursday November 20 at the Hollywood Highlands in the world-famous Kodak Theater complex in Hollywood, CA.
