PGA Pro Develops Instant Feedback Golf Training Aid

Paul Thornley’s golf career started at the age of 13. By the age of 17, Paul was a scratch golfer and in 1989, with a handicap of plus 2, six British Amateur championships and the same number of British Opens under his belt, Paul turned pro and joined the European Tour.

However, few high spots drove Paul to turn his hand to something he knew he had a natural ability for: coaching. His inert ability to explain golf moves and build a stronger sense of confidence in general on the course was admired; but it was his adept knowledge and study of the golf swing for which he became best known.

Inclement Weather Hinders Practice

Paul’s ability to establish swing consistency and add power and accuracy to the shot; coupled with his frustration at being forced off the practice tee during inclement weather and unable to coach and practice in the confines of his Pro shop, was channelled into developing an indoor swing building golf practice system.

Paul was aware of the lack of swing building and practice aids that could be used in a confined indoor area all year round. He also wholeheartedly believed that practice was pointless without measurability, and in golf, that practice was futile without a ball.

Paul therefore developed his system with these core fundamentals at the heart of the product.
