Dream On! Creative Collaboration Partners with the Reach Complex for MLK Tribute

Dec. 2, 2008 - PRLog -- DREAM ON! PARTNERS WITH THE REACH COMPLEX FOR MLK TRIBUTE

Dream On! — an international creative collaboration that is producing two tribute CDs, dedicated to the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. — is partnering with the REACH Complex of Atlanta, GA, King’s hometown. REACH, which stands for Rivers Entertainment & Arts Center for Harmony, trains youth and under-employed and unemployed adults in all aspects of the arts and entertainment industry and assists trained participants in acquiring gainful related employment.

“Dream On! is thrilled to collaborate with The REACH Complex. Its vision and philosophy meld perfectly with those of Dream On!, which seeks to blend art and service,” says Maya Armstrong, producer of the project.

The overall message conveyed by the thirty tracks on the 2-disc set is positive and uplifting, yet thought-provoking. It is at once a celebration of the progress we’ve made and a challenge to recognize and stand up to continuing injustices in our society and in the world at large. The featured artists share not only respect and admiration for Dr. King, but also a desire to use their talents to promote positive change. To this end, they have donated their music to this project. The primary mode of distribution will be FREE downloadable MP3s. In lieu of paying for the music, the “user” will be invited to donate to one (or more) of several charitable organizations, including the REACH Complex.

The REACH Complex and the other nonprofit organizations that are partnering with Dream On! have at least one thing in common: They are dedicated to improving the human condition through education and empowerment. As we enter into the season of peace, let us remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. — a man who, in the midst of divisiveness and fear, spoke of the power of love and promoted peaceful empowerment for all.
