US Export Council - Nonstop to Dubai on United Airlines

Dec. 4, 2008 - PRLog -- The United Arab Emirates is the largest US trading partner in the Middle East with US$11.6 billion in US Export sales in 2007.

So it was no surprise that United Airlines launched the first-ever nonstop service in October between Washington, D.C. and Dubai. With the inaugural flight, United becomes the only carrier to offer daily nonstop service between these important centers of government and commerce.

"While oil and gas wealth is being used to build for the future and to diversify their economies. The financial centers of the Gulf are expanding – bringing opportunities for US companies in a dozen key industry sectors." said Joe Tavares at USEC in Paris.

“Projects valued at over US$1.2 trillion are currently planned or underway in the Gulf alone, including ports, airports, rail, industrial, residential medical and educational developments as well as water and power projects critical to the region's economic development   Investment in Healthcare in the Gulf alone is forecast to reach US$60 billion by 2025: a major leap from US$15 billion today.” said David Altman Executive Director at the US Export Council in New York.

US companies and economic development leaders are traveling to Dubai on United Airlines to attend a series of trade and investment missions organized by the US Export Council during 2009

The trade and investment missions promote US exports to the Middle East’s booming trade hub, the United Arab Emirates. The missions also serve to attract investment to the US from the UAE and strengthen two-way trade between the two regions.

The new Washington – Dubai route expands United’s breadth of service to the Middle East and strengthens the company’s Washington Dulles hub as an international gateway. United also serves Kuwait City daily from Washington Dulles in addition to 21 other international destinations. Washington Dulles also offers valuable connections to more than 58 destinations in the United States.
