By: IPSYSTEMS Inc From the main Makati Medical Center building to the Kalayaan building, laptop and mobile phone users (with WiFi) may now access websites, send and receive emails, and even download multimedia from any point within the campus. “With an increasing number of our faculty members needing to access the internet for their lectures and class presentations, and students requiring easy internet connection for research, implementing a campus-wide WiFi access was the next obvious step necessary for the school. Moreover, the school makes it a point to always keep pace with the latest technology to facilitate efficient learning and teaching of students and faculty members,” said Mr. George E. Bacerra, I.T. Administrator of RTRMS. Commissioned to implement RTRMS' WiFi project was IPSYSTEMS Inc. (www.ipsystems.ph) The term “WiFi” is the name of a popular wireless networking technology that uses radio waves to provide wireless high-speed Internet and network connections. The WiFi Alliance, the organization that owns the WiFi (registered trademark) term specifically defines WiFi as any "wireless local area network (WAN) products that are based on the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' (IEEE) 802.11 standards." WiFi generally makes access to information between devices from different manufacturers or source easier, as it can eliminate some of the physical restraints of wiring. # # # About IPSYSTEMS Inc IPSYSTEMS Inc is a Linux and open source solutions provider specializing in technology systems for the network and communication requirements of Philippine enterprises and organizations.
