Sports Radio 850 The Buzz and 620 The Bull Continue Decade Long Dominance of Male 25-54 Demographic

Fall Arbitron Radio Ratings show major audience share increases with males who have highest discretionary spending budget

Jan. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, N.C.  - McClatchey Broadcasting continues to deliver the largest share of sports talk listeners in the Triangle market, according to the Fall Arbitron Radio ratings.  The latest ratings data show 850 The Buzz (WRBZ) and 620 The Bull (WDNC) have continued their strangle hold on the important demographic of decision-making males ages 25-54 years old.  With a combined total audience share of 1.4%, 850 The Buzz and 620 The Bull have an audience share 40% greater than its closest competitor in the Sports Talk Radio market.  The Fall Arbitron survey took place for twelve consecutive weeks from September 18th through December 10, 2008.

Overall listener growth was fueled by audience increases in such local shows as David Glenn and Bomani Jones and syndicated programs such as The Jim Rome Show and Primetime With The Packman.
