Follow on Google News | Cec Murphey, Kimberley Kennedy to teach class on writing for Christian marketCecil Murphey, co-author of “90 Minutes in Heaven,” and Kimberley Kennedy, “Hot Topics” anchor and author of “Left at the Altar,” will teach a class in writing for the Christian market at the Spring Book Show in Atlanta on March 6.
The workshop, entitled “Authorship 201,” will focus on writing inspirational nonfiction. Cecil “Cec” Murphey is the author or co-author of 112 books with Christian themes, including the best-selling 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death and Life, which he co-authored with Don Piper. Originally published by Revell in 2004, the book and related titles have more than four million copies in print in English and 32 other languages. His latest book, When Someone You Love Has Cancer, was released in January 2009. Cecil has also written hundreds of articles that have appeared in a variety of publications. He stays busy as a professional writer and travels extensively to speak on topics such as Christian living, spiritual growth, prayer, caregiving, significant living, male sexual abuse and writing. Kimberley Kennedy, host of “Hot Topics,” a television news magazine syndicated nationally by Cox Broadcasting’ Atlanta author and publisher Noel Griese, editor of the Southern Review of Books newsletter, which organized the workshop, said that people attending the Christian writing workshop get free admission to the Spring Book Show, being held at the Cobb Galleria Centre on March 6-8. The Spring Book Show is the largest bargain book and remainder show held annually in the United States.
