By: WJ Carrel/Author Ambassador Media contact: WJ Carrel Stephen Larsen PhD is Featured Author-of-the- Los Angeles, CA - Stephen Larsen, PhD, award-winning author and Psychology Professor Emeritus from SUNY Ulster, New York, will be the featured February 2009 guest author at the Graham Hancock website grahamhancock.com. Larsen’s most recent book, The Fundamentalist Mind: How Polarized Thinking Imperils Us All (Quest Books), is featured on the Hancock home page with a link to an article by Larsen. The article, entitled “Why Some Think the Gods Must Be Crazy, or How We Sink Into Delusion When We Think God Is On Our Side”, elaborates some of the ideas put forth in Larsen’s book which won Foreword Magazine’s Best of the Year Award 2008. Dr. Larsen provides a glimpse into the psychology, neurology and mythology of fundamentalism and its pervasive and destructive patterns of thought in the article and in the book. His investigations conclude that when human beings recognize these patterns in themselves, they can free themselves for a new beginning. Scottish-born author and journalist Graham Hancock has been actively engaged in studying and reporting the history of the world for most of his life, a life which has taken him from university settings in Europe, to India, Egypt, Ethiopia and other exotic destinations. A prolific author, he is best known for his epic tome The Sign of the Seal which investigates the whereabouts of the lost Ark of the Covenant (a sacred wooden container with the Ten Commandments inside), as well as his book Fingerprints of the Gods (which traces mankind’s pre-history through ancient civilizations) When Dr. Larsen was on the faculty at Ulster, 1968-1996, he directed a program in consciousness studies and biofeedback that gave students a hands-on opportunity to train and to research the health benefits of biofeedback. In 1990 he opened Stone Mountain Counseling, PC, for psychotherapy, biofeedback and training where he continues to serve as its director. In addition to The Fundamentalist Mind, Dr. Larsen wrote the widely acclaimed The Healing Power of Neurofeedback: More information on Stephen Larsen PhD, can be found at the author’s website stonemountaincenter.com. # # # Author Ambassador offers business development, shepherding, and marketing services for authors, publishers, and "green" companies.
