Why the Whole World looks to US for Solutions to everything. Robin Trehan

Feb. 4, 2009 - PRLog -- Present financial crisis has once again made the whole world looking back at US for answers to solve it. It seems irregardless of what other countries propagate we are still the best. So,  if US has the “recipe” of success why can’t other countries just emulate it. Why people from everywhere when they come to US they become successful but cannot replicate the same back home. They all are genius but only when in USA.

Let's look at some of the reasons, why it works only in US and why it is hard to copy.

1.   Success recipe is replicated in many places like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK etc. If we look at these countries there has been one widespread policy of immigration based on talent.  Same like US, talent is given preference. Talented people when they come they are not burden to the system as they create jobs, or create or add value to the system some form or  the other. Same cannot be said when the family based or cross border or illegal immigration takes place. This create a burden on the system and makes society more unstable. Second category might be useful when you need unskillful people to support or work for skillful people.

2.   Why this thing did not work in many other places is because there is nothing to look  upon. We all know stories about a person became a billionaire and he had nothing. This only happens in USA. So, people around the world and because where they come for want to follow or do the same. Success breeds success.

3.   Remember, USA became real strong only around world war II and it’s a new country with constant flux of ideas, where the system does not hesitate to try. It is a matter of confidence and confidence comes from neighboring success.

4.   People or countries around world lives in very hierarchical society, where son of a doctor is doctor and engineer an engineer. The power never flows down. In US power is determined by “Success/Money” and everyone is free to give it a try. Nothing is impossible or maybe impossible is nothing.

5.   So, if the world follow that Money is the king, the system will work everywhere. It will promote competition and desire to win. But it is not the case. In some places it is religion and in some caste,  creed or color which makes a factor in growth.

6.   Also, remember we all want to be successful whether we are Asian, European, African or Arab. The drive to success is only possible if the system stretches you and set reward. In most places the higher society is structured in a manner where richness passes from family to family. How much a person can grow in a box with hand tied behind back and eyes covered. Life is more a matter of survival of earning bread for family than of thinking or achieving a goal.

7.   In other case of industrialized countries like France, Germany, Sweden, Japan or Italy, they want to experiment a socialist or semi socialist model. US model for them is too intense as it depends constant experiment and too much disparity of income between rich and poor.

8.   Another reason for it, this immigration which was based on talent in US was not so conducive or turned out to be conducive in France, Germany or in many other places as immigration was not really based on talent. So, a fear of immigrates remain in place.

9.   Also, the stage of utopia is something we all want to achieve. Socialism if achievable is real wonderful but is it possible to achieve or is it just a mirage!

10.   I forgot to add the role of media, movies and marketing, sales. US has been just superb in prompting its image around the world.  

By far we are still the best.
