Feb. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- The list of small businesses, hotels, restaurants and retailers coming to Dyersburg continues to grow and is expected to boom with the expansion of the new interstate I-69. It is looking even more promising with the injection of capital from President Obamas’ stimulus plan focusing on reconstruction and redevelopment of infrastructure.  Dr. Darren Johnson, a graduate of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine and emergency room physician in Dyersburg, TN is the founder of DLJ Investments, the group behind the development. Dr. Johnson saw a commercial development opportunity and purchased the 6 acre parcel along the future I-69.

Less than a year later, DLJ Investments was approved to develop a 60 room hotel on the site. This hotel development, which is currently in the site planning phase, is expected to begin construction in 2009. To assist in this endeavor an alliance between DLJ Investments and NABHOOD (The National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers) was initiated to provide additional advisory services through the completion of the hotel portion. As part of the brand development marketing plan, the Devin James Group (DJG) began to identify selling components and market it as The Radio Plaza. The website, www.theradioplaza.com, was designed to demonstrate the amenities and features of the completed development. DJG is also currently soliciting other businesses and partners to become part of this development.

We have spoken to a number of restaurants groups like, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, IHOP and Cracker Barrel and are looking forward to continued discussions and building future relationships.
