These vibrant communities can be seen on a new website devoted exclusively to the religious brotherhood. Launched Feb. 21, the website aims to bring to light a better understanding of this “forgotten” The website, launched by the Libertyville, IL-based Institute on Religious Life (IRL), is the only one that describes and promotes the vocation of brotherhood in general, as well as providing abundant links to a variety of communities, said Michael Wick, IRL Executive Director. “The website is not only unique, but the entire process of creating it gave all of us a greater appreciation for this often overlooked vocation within the Church,” “This vocation is a tangible reminder of the ‘Brotherhood of Christ’.” Wick said that the website, funded by Our Sunday Visitor Institute, and designed by Visual Rhythm Design, has as its purpose to become the premier Internet portal of information on this form of consecrated life by not only promoting vocations, but proclaiming to Catholic laity its value and charism and providing a website that speaks for all brothers who are authentically living out the evangelical counsels of the Church. The website provides key elements to better explain the vocation along with a listing of valuable services and ministries that brothers provide to the Church.
